Overview

The IT Intern provides internal customer service, second level problem resolution, and
desktop technology support. This position also participates in special projects as assigned.
This Intern position is assigned to the Desktop Services Group and takes day-to-day direction from the Desktop Services Supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support and problem resolution activities for assigned tickets.
• Uses technical tools and knowledge to meet or exceed performance standards and expectations.
• Installs PC's and related hardware; investigates hardware problems and performs minor repairs.
• Develops knowledge of the firm's total computing environment and the quality management processes and practices.
• Utilizes the approaches, tools and techniques for working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
• Interfaces with vendors and R&G Technical Services for resolution of network, systems, and/or related hardware problems.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience configuring, installing and supporting the hardware and connectivity components of single user workstations.
• Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical problems.
• Experience with operating systems, specifically Windows 10 and/or Windows 11.
• Experience with standard Windows applications including Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to understand customer needs and expectations, provide excellent service in direct and indirect manner, and fulfill customer expectations.
• Must be able to understand the organization's culture, philosophy and values.
• Ability to make clear decisions using good judgment.
• Ability to provide solutions and best practices for solving problems.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal senior assistance.
• Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
• Ability to express oneself and communicate with clarity.

• Must demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of the firm's internal and personnel affairs.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

Boston: $25/hour

 

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
