Overview

Serves the firm itself as a trusted advisor primarily focusing on the recruitment and hiring of entry-level lawyers, planning and implementation of the summer program, and law school relations.  The Senior Legal Recruiting Specialist reports directly to the West Coast Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting and works closely with the Los Angeles hiring partners, as well as the Director of Entry Level Recruiting and firm-wide hiring partner.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the building and coordination of candidate pipelines through the recruitment, interviewing, offers and follow-up stages for the Los Angeles office.
  • In partnership with the local hiring partners and the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting formulate hiring strategies and execute on-campus outreach initiatives; engage candidates at events designed to market the firm.
  • Network and partner with law school career services and student organizations to raise firm’s profile as well as the profile of the Los Angeles office.
  • Responsible for the creation, execution, and implementation of the Los Angeles summer associate program including logistical planning, coordinating work assignments coordinating mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluations. Serve as a trusted advisor to the Los Angeles summer associates helping to build and forge relationships with lawyers and personnel at the firm.
  • Responsible for keeping and maintaining corporate and official records using the legal recruiting database (LawCruit).
  • Collaborate with Director of Lateral Recruiting on lateral associate recruitment and onboarding.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting, Legal Recruiting Directors, or the Chief of Attorney Talent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Four (4) to seven (7) years of executive recruiting or attorney professional development experience at a mid-sized or large law firm, career services or other professional services industry is preferred 
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database programs (e.g., LawCruit, Symplicity, FloRecruit); social media (LinkedIn etc.) are highly desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.
  • Ability to multitask, work efficiently independently as well as within a team.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below in alpha order and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

Los Angeles $82,000 - $122,000

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
