Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Legal Recruiting Coordinator will assist with organizing activities related to the recruiting and hiring of entry-level lawyers and other recruitment initiatives. This role supports the Legal Recruiting Department leadership including the Director of Legal Recruiting, the local Legal Recruiting Manager, along with other Legal Recruiting staff on all matters related to hiring including on-campus events, the annual summer associate program, and orientation. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the Legal Recruiting Director, Manager, and Specialists with candidate outreach initiatives, reviewing and processing resumes, organizing interview schedules, collecting and synthesizing interviewer feedback, generating offer letters, and organizing local orientation logistics.
  • Participate in the execution of the local office summer associate program including logistical planning, work assignment tracking, preparing for mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluations, organize and attend summer program social events and other duties associated with the summer program as assigned by the Legal Recruiting Manager.
  • Help to liaise with prospective entry-level candidates from the initial screening stage through employment decision, including support for lateral and non-partner track career attorneys.
  • Support legal recruiting team with on-campus recruiting processes, preparing materials needed for call back meetings, scheduling callback interviews, candidate communications, tracking and follow-up with attorneys for evaluations, assisting manager in organizing agenda materials for local office hiring partner meetings, and updating legal recruiting database.
  • Liaise with attorneys for staffing recruiting events and to keep them apprised of the status of candidates.
  • Under the direction of the Legal Recruiting Manager, provides updates to the hiring web site and recruiting print materials.
  • Utilize the legal recruiting database (LawCruit/FloRecruit) to generate recruiting reports and statistics. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Legal Recruiting and Attorney Talent teams.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of recruiting or attorney professional development experience at a mid-sized or large law firm, career services or other professional services industry is preferred. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.
  • Ability to work efficiently independently as well as within a team.
  • Highly-motivated demonstrating strong initiative.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database programs (e.g., LawCruit, FloRecruit, Symplicity); advanced social media (LinkedIn etc.) and web-based programs skills are highly desirable.

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

Ropes & Gray is proud to offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package to our business support team members. The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

Boston: $56,000 - $78,000

 

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. The team is expected in office four (4) days per week.  Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
