Overview

The Legal Knowledge Management Coordinator will support KM Attorneys and the Legal Knowledge Management group in their efforts to improve client service through developing, implementing, and maintaining knowledge sharing systems. The individual in this role will work with KM Attorneys to coordinate various projects related to law firm knowledge capture and sharing, legal technologies, data management and visualization processes, and other initiatives to support our legal practice and will act as a liaison between attorneys and support staff to execute on Legal KM goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of the Legal KM project portfolio and with the implementation of Legal KM solutions and tools to strengthen knowledge management across the firm.
  • Work with the Legal KM group and other internal Firm resources to support initiatives, ongoing projects, programs, and track usage and quality standards for our KM tools. Assist KM Attorneys with discrete projects, as needed.
  • Assist on the implementation phase of solutions developed by the KM group. Work with the Legal KM team and with KM managers, Project Managers, and IT Training to execute on the appropriate support model once the tool is in production.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to inform them of project status and maintain ongoing support for assigned tasks.
  • Support the day to day operations of the firm’s KM tools, including content maintenance, organization and maintenance of databases, and other support (for example, data visualization, firm experience records management, oversight of knowledge libraries and matter tracking).
  • Champion the use of Legal KM tools and resources. Assist with the implementation of communications strategies for legal KM priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Good attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple projects at the same time. Must be able to re-prioritize work to keep up with the needs of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with Knowledge Management is desirable. Facility with data management systems and basic skills with data visualization tools are a plus.
  • Ability to work with professional staff in a multi-office environment.
  • Background in business, law or equivalent experience is desirable.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

Boston: $55,400 - $80,300 

New York: $58,000 - $84,100 
 

 

 

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
