Overview

The Financial Analyst will support the FP&A Supervisor, Manager and Director with an in-depth focus on managing the ongoing reporting and analysis while maintaining a constant eye for efficiency and innovation.  We will rely on this person to connect various internal and external stakeholders with projects as well as recurring performance monitoring.  The ideal candidate will have a strong financial reporting background as well as experience in building a broad network both to get help as well as be of help. The role will have direct exposure to senior leaders in finance, in legal practices and with many others. This is a growth opportunity to join a close-knit, high functioning group.

The role will require financial business partnering, problem solving and analytical acumen, in addition to hands-on reporting and analysis. Over time and with management support, a successful analyst will own the end-to-end cycle of data management, reporting, analysis and presentation.

The role will have exposure to the CFO, certain business and functional leaders, with some partner interaction. The analyst will contribute to the financial functions included below:

Responsibilities

Essential functions:

  • Responsible for several recurring performance-oriented reports including bi-weekly and month-end analysis and commentary. These high profile deliverables require accuracy, speed and thoughtful analysis. Much of this work will be done in our business intelligence system, MicroStrategy.
  • Build relationships throughout all levels of the firm in multiple areas, including financial systems, other business support and the client service teams. This role will have regular opportunities to develop and utilize a variety of communication skills while collaborating across the organization.
  • Attend and on occasion run staff meetings across business support functions.
  • Bring process improvement, ownership and project management mindset to all areas of responsibility. You will be encouraged to bring ideas and to contribute to the team’s growth.
  • Contribute to other areas of FP&A reporting and analysis on an ad-hoc basis or as back-up for colleagues using BI tools, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

Essential capabilities:

  • High level of adaptability while managing concurrent projects and maintaining day-to-day deliverables.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Resourceful and able to collaborate with peers where necessary in a data fluid environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on how to translate our financial goals and performance into understandable content for our stakeholders.
  • Interest and ability to learn the firm’s business intelligence system in support of day-to-day team deliverables and longer-term projects.

 

Education, experience and skills needed:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Finance, Management, Computer Science or related majors.
  • Must have 2+ years experience in financial analysis and reporting or equivalent. 
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks with minimum supervision is required.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and experience with MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI or similar visualization and reporting products. 
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret financial data for non-finance audiences, including peers in other support roles.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

  • Boston: $70,500 - $107,550

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
