Overview

This is position within the IT department, is responsible for assisting with the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of desktop systems.  This includes, desktop management systems, application distribution systems and methodologies, specification and testing of workstation equipment, development of workstation/laptop client processes and procedures, and management of application upgrades and installations. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Handling, troubleshooting and closure of call incidents that are escalated to team.
  • Provide end-user support and troubleshooting for issues related to document comparison, metadata removal, proofreading and collaboration tools.
  • Assist with testing and rolling out of document lifecycle tools.
  • Assist with Word plug-in software updates, version control and integration into DMS.
  • Responsible for assisting with the design, installation, and management of the desktop management systems.
  • The position is expected to stay current on all desktop related security issues, trends, and best practices including relevant security bulletins and current events.
  • Testing, review and deployment of desktop security patches, virus definitions, and other security related updates
  • Research and vendor relations relating to initial engagement, testing, and assessment of applications. Work with vendors to resolve application or platform problems.
  • Test and distribute new or upgraded applications and operating systems.
  • Configure and test workstations, laptops, and any necessary peripherals.
  • Support and train department staff.
  • Develop and document best practices, processes, and procedures related to all aspects of desktop environment, software distribution, and desktop management.
  • Work with other teams to support projects and initiatives
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:           

 

  • Bachelor degree and 5-7 years experience in desktop field
  • Strong working knowledge of document lifecycle tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of software and image distribution tools such as Microsoft SCCM\Intune and Altiris management platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise class security protection platforms
  • Understanding of scripting and other automation methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows as a Service operating systems
  • Understanding of the desktop’s role in an enterprise networked environment
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong leadership skills

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

  • Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C.: $81,000 - $123,550
  • New York: $84,900 - $129,450
  • San Francisco: $88,700 - $135,300

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
