Overview

The Senior QA Analyst is responsible for creation and execution of test plans, test strategies, and test scripts for third party and internally developed solutions. The Senior QA Analyst is accountable to the Project Manager for overall planning and facilitation of the QA Phase within projects. The Senior QA Analyst supports all QA and user acceptance testing activities, ensuring knowledge sharing between the analysts, technical & testing resources within the team takes place. The Senior QA Analyst has a deep understanding of and promotes key concepts relating to QA best practices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review business and technical requirements. Develop detailed work estimates for testing efforts, including time needed for test planning, documentation, and execution.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications, ensuring full coverage using standardized templates and guidelines.
  • Prioritize test cases based on risk and business impact to ensure critical areas are tested first.
  • Perform manual testing across functional, system, performance, and regression areas to validate application quality. Document, track, verify, and report defects promptly. Validate bug fixes and report on test progress and results.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to validate application functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Test application user interfaces, backend processes, and data layers using appropriate testing tools and techniques.
  • Lead and facilitate defect triage meetings, ensuring focus on resolution and timely execution of test cases.
  • Identify and/or create test data in accordance with the firm’s data governance standards and security policies.
  • Prepare and review testing documentation with the project team prior to test execution.
  • Perform post-implementation testing and provide clear results and feedback to the implementation team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure successful validation of business needs.
  • Maintain QA process documentation, guidelines, and knowledge base.
  • Work closely with IT and business stakeholders throughout the project and product lifecycle to ensure quality delivery.
  • Establish and promote QA best practices, processes, and metrics. Recommend tools and methods to improve QA efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate across teams to develop and standardize quality processes.

Qualifications

  • 10-12 years experience in a quality assurance role creating and executing test plans, test strategies and test cases
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience identifying, documenting and validating Test Cases
  • Experience working with different Operating Systems, Browsers and Email Clients
  • Experience working with functional automation tools like TestComplete, Selenium, UFT etc. preferred
  • Experience with database testing and strong SQL skills preferred
  • Knowledge of testing tools including HP ALM, Quality Center, Azure Dev Ops, SmartSheet etc.
  • Knowledge of Python, HTML, JavaScript, ASP or .NET preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal communication skills and Strong customer focus skills
  • Must be both a self-starter and a team player and have excellent communication skills
  • Must be creative and flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Relates to people in an open, friendly and accepting manner.
  • Knowledge of PC applications, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and Project, PowerPoint preferred
  • Law firm experience preferred

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

  • Boston: $93,200 - $142,150

 

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
