Overview

This position is a senior level desktop engineer position within the IT department, responsible for the design, maintenance, and management of the firm's desktop systems and remote access farm.  Responsibilities include the design and maintenance of desktop management systems, the design and maintenance of our remote access farm, the design and maintenance of application distribution systems and methodologies, the specification and testing of workstation equipment, the development of workstation/laptop client processes and procedures, and the management of application upgrades and installations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate in the design, installation, and management of the desktop management systems.
  • Participate in the design, installation, and management of the firm's remote access systems.
  • Configure, test, and distribute new or upgraded applications and operating systems.
  • Configure, test, and recommend new hardware platforms for workstations, laptops, and any necessary peripherals.
  • Optimize performance of desktop and laptop computing experience for end users.
  • Support and train department staff.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend purchase, development, or enhancement of relevant hardware and software.
  • Develop and document best practices, processes, and procedures related to all aspects of desktop support, software distribution, and desktop management.
  • Work with other teams to support projects and initiatives.
  • Assures knowledge transfer for new systems.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the firm's disaster recovery plan.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:     

 

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:     

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years experience in enterprise desktop and network field
  • Strong understanding of and experience with Microsoft operating systems
  • Strong understanding of and experience with Citrix Presentation server / XenApp Technology. Including XenDesktop, Netscaler, EdgeSite, Application Profiler, Web Gateway, and core Terminal Services technology.
  • Strong understanding of, and hands-on experience with, Azure cloud services and Intune management required.

  • Strong understanding of and deep experience in packaging applications
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of SCCM, Altiris, and/or other enterprise software distribution/management systems
  • Strong understanding and experience with scripting, including PowerShell and VB
  • Preferred certifications, not required:  MCSE
  • Experience with Active Directory and GPOs/GPPs
  • Strong scripting and application packaging skills
  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

  • New York: $129,100- $196,900

 

Working Conditions

 

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
