Overview

 

The Senior Strategic Practice Analytics Manager is a senior role within Practice Development, responsible for overseeing and advancing the firm’s strategic priorities. This position leads complex, high-impact projects that inform firm-wide decisions on partnership issues, compensation, and capacity. The Senior Manager will work closely with executive leadership including the Chief of Practice Development and the Director of Strategic Practice Analytics and will drive innovation in analytical approaches and technology adoption. This role supports senior decision makers addressing strategic issues based on data-driven analysis.

 

Responsibilities

      Partner Analytics

  • Lead analysis of partner capacity, cohort seniority, and partnership structure to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for partner promotions, departures, and succession planning.
  • Advise senior leadership on strategic decisions using advanced analytics and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop and implement innovative analytics tools and methodologies, including AI-driven solutions, to support evolving business needs.

Compensation & Partnership Analytics

  • Oversee the analysis and reporting of partner compensation and capacity, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with authorized cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and confidentiality in compensation analytics.
  • Streamline and enhance compensation-related workflows through innovative solutions, driving operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Competitive Intelligence & Benchmarking

  • Develop a more streamlined process for the collection, synthesis, and presentation of competitive intelligence on peer law firms’ partner promotions and compensation systems.
  • Provide actionable insights to inform firm policies and strategic planning.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the firm, including partners, senior management, and support staff.
  • Present complex analytics findings and recommendations to executive audiences in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.

General Leadership & Strategic Impact

  • Manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional judgment, discretion, and integrity.
  • Champion a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative culture within the Practice Development team.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of long-term firm strategy through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in analytics, consulting, or professional services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis, strategic planning, and project management.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI); experience with AI and advanced analytics technologies highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership.
  • High professional maturity, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, decentralized, and diverse environment.

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

Boston: $180,700 - $289,150

New York: $192,200 - $307,550

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
