Overview

Are you a recent graduate eager to launch your career with a leading global law firm? Our prestigious 1-year rotational program is tailored for 2026 graduates or those who have completed their degree within the past year and possess a strong passion for Marketing and Business Development. As an MBD Foundations Program Fellow, you will immerse yourself and spend time in a subset of Marketing and Business Development departments including Marketing, Communications, Business Development, Client Development & Industry and Client Operations & Legal Project Management gaining invaluable, hands-on experience alongside industry leaders in our New York or Boston offices.

 

Throughout the program and rotation, you will collaborate with seasoned professionals, tackle real-world projects, and develop critical skills that will set you apart in today’s competitive marketplace. This program offers a unique pathway to accelerate your professional growth within the context of a globally recognized law firm, with successful fellows being considered for a full-time position upon completion. Application Process:

  • Application window: March 17th – March 27th
  • Interviews: Week of May 11th, held in New York or Boston.
    • Candidates must be available to attend onsite interviews during this week.
  • Requirements: A cover letter is required as part of your application - indicating preferred team placement.
  • Start date: June 15th

Responsibilities

Placements & Responsibilities:

Marketing:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives that elevate the firm’s brand
  • Partner on high-visibility projects across all digital marketing channels
  • Monitor campaign performance and engagement metrics, helping identify opportunities to optimize reach and impact
  • Assist in ROI tracking for events to ensure marketing investments drive measurable results
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure marketing materials are up-to-date and accessible
  • Conduct market and competitive research to inform strategic decision-making
  • Analyze data and prepare clear, insight-driven reports that support continuous improvement and strategic planning

Communications:

  • Execute PR campaigns for firm initiatives and key practice areas
  • Research and draft content for attorney matters, deals, awards, media coverage, and speaking opportunities
  • Prepare daily newsletter highlighting firm media coverage and awards
  • Track awards, rankings, media coverage, and key firm information
  • Support media relations by drafting pitches, preparing interview materials, and identifying media targets
  • Research relevant news topics related to the firm
  • Provide ad-hoc project support as needed

Business Development:

  • Provide project and administrative support for business development teams
  • Track business development activities
  • Support the development of pitches and proposals, including updating and maintaining pitch materials
  • Conduct research for client meetings and pitches and for other business development purposes
  • Support client focused business development events, including mailing lists. Invitations, researching and tracking attendees and additional follow-up initiatives
  • Assist with updating experience lists

Client Development & Industry:

  • Conduct and maintain competitive intelligence for key client teams
  • Assist with stakeholder mapping and follow through plans for key client teams
  • Support client development by maintaining CRM hygiene for key client team contacts
  • Track matter experience and update pitch materials
  • Support participation in industry conferences, including researching clients and prospects
  • Assist with event planning, mailing lists, invitations, and researching attendees
  • Support business development by researching client targets

Client Operations & Legal Project Management

  • Maintain data for firmwide client reporting
  • Monitor matter status and coordinate with team members
  • Explore the use of AI to help automate tasks
  • Fulfill requests for analytics on legal matters
  • Assist with organizing and updating reporting suite
  • Use MicroStrategy to pull and organize data

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Eligible candidates must be graduating in May 2026, or have graduated within the last 12 months.
  • Relevant prior internship experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Professional demeanor and strict confidentiality
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive to improve service
  • Project management and problem-solving skills

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay rate for this role is listed below which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

Boston & New York: $60,000

Working Conditions

Work Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or hybrid office environment in New York or Boston
  • Regular use of a computer and standard office equipment
  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed
  • Duties may evolve to meet business and organizational need

Opportunity for Full-Time Offer:

  • At the conclusion of the program, fellows may be considered for a full-time offer based on performance and business needs.
