Overview

The Engagement & Impact team is responsible for executing the firm’s mission to provide all community members the opportunity to thrive. The Engagement & Impact Manager will provide dedicated oversight, thought leadership, and program execution for the Women’s Forum. The Manager will offer guidance and support for events, initiatives, and activities focused on community building within the Women’s Forum as well as education and awareness-building across other communities. This role requires a highly resourceful and strategic thinker with strong emotional intelligence, discretion, and excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Successful candidates will have an interest in, and experience with, engagement efforts at a large organization.

 

Responsibilities

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with forum co-chairs and Engagement & Impact team to oversee all aspects of the Women’s Forum.
  • Foster engagement among community members and collaborate with other firm leaders to help formulate strategic vision around engagement.
  • Execute policy, planning, and strategy decisions for the Women’s Forum.
  • Develop and manage a detailed program, project, and initiatives schedule and work plan for all forum activities.
  • Predict resources needed to reach forum objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Create regularly scheduled reports for stakeholders; provide updates on a consistent basis about strategy, adjustments, and progress on initiatives.
  • Maintain budget and programmatic oversight.
  • Collaborate across departments to implement strategy and initiatives, update and maintain content on the firm’s website, intranet and other publications, and help produce marketing assets for internal and external distribution.
  • Monitor legal industry benchmarks and generate internal reports and presentations.
  • Perform other work related duties, as necessary.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. or advanced degree a plus.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in HR at a law firm or professional services firm, with at least 3 years of experience with employee resource groups.
  • Experience in project management, operations, and leadership.
  • Understanding of workplace community building, having had previous experience in a law firm, law school, or other professional setting. 
  • Prior people management experience a plus.
  • Experience in preparing and monitoring a department budget.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, managing multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Sound judgment and ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly in order to grasp larger concepts as well as details.
  • Energetic orientation; driven to and energized by accomplishment.
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; and have the ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment in seeking a resolution.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among all levels of an organization, and specifically within the E&I team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced skill in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

 

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

Boston: $134,700 - $205,450

Chicago: $134,700 - $205,450

New York: $145,800 - $222,350

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
